Photographic photometry in B and V has been obtained for these stars from these scans and scans of six Yerkes reflector plates. The present proper motions have significantly improved precision compared to Cudworth [AJ, 84, 1866 (1979)]. Membership probabilities derived from the new proper motions are largely in agreement with those from Cudworth's study, but this paper includes nearly 200 additional stars, many of which are probable members. A color-magnitude diagram of probable members is presented and discussed, as well as comparisons to previous photometry. All but two of the previously known or suspected variables are found to be highly probable members. These proper motions have been used by Cudworth &amp; Hanson [AJ, 105, 168 (1993)] to derive a large space velocity for M5, implying that it is a rich outer halo cluster on an eccentric orbit near perigalacticon. These motions will be used in a forthcoming paper to explore the internal dynamics of M5, including a derivation of the cluster distance by comparison of the proper motion and radial velocity dispersions.</description><source format="bibcode">1993AJ....106.1524R</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/AJ/106/1524</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/106/1524</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/106/1524</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/AJ/106/1524</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/106/1524</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/106/1524</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/AJ/106/1524</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/AJ/106/1524/table3 (M5 relative positions, proper motions, photometry, and membership probabilities.)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/106/1524/table3?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/106/1524/table3?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/AJ/106/1524/table3?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>229.6032481</ra><dec>2.0480653</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/31416-31417</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/AJ/106/1524?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/AJ/106/1524/table3</name><description>M5 relative positions, proper motions, photometry, and membership probabilities.</description><column><name>SimbadName</name><description>Simbad column added by the CDS</description><ucd>meta.id</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="24*">char</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
