The observations were made in the H-alpha emission line which is prominent in BCGs. A velocity sampling of 5km/s and a pixel size of 0.9arcseconds were used. In this paper we present the observations and the data together with the velocity fields and the derived rotation curves. In addition we provide rough estimates of the total dynamical mass and of the ionised gas mass for each galaxy. All galaxies display rotation, but while the companion galaxies have regular velocity fields, those of the BCGs are complex and appear perturbed. This is the most extensive study to date of the optical velocity fields of BCGs. The interpretation of these results will be presented in a forthcoming paper (Paper II).</description><source format="bibcode">1999A&amp;AS..137..419O</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+AS/137/419</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/511/639">J/ApJ/511/639 : Abundances in blue compact galaxies (Izotov+, 1999)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/139/1">J/A+AS/139/1 : HI in Byurakan blue comact galaxies (Thuan+, 1999)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/147/169">J/A+AS/147/169 : Accurate positions of 2978 SBS objects (Bicay+, 2000)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/373/24">J/A+A/373/24 : Blue compact galaxies from SBS (Pustilnik+ 2001)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+AS/137/419</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+AS/137/419</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+AS/137/419</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+AS/137/419</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+AS/137/419</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+AS/137/419</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+AS/137/419/table6</name><description>Rotation curves</description><column><name>Name</name><description>Galaxy name</description><ucd>meta.id;meta.main</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="12*">char</dataType></column><column><name>e_Vrec</name><description>? rms uncertainty on Vrec</description><unit>km/s</unit><ucd>stat.error</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">int</dataType><flag>nullable</flag></column><column><name>Model</name><description>?
