From the 293 objects found, 33 were excluded because they are not CP stars and/or have no period listed, half of the remaining stars are newly identified and half had been already included in the catalogue of variable CP stars by Catalano &amp; Renson (1997, Cat. &lt;J/A+AS/121/57&gt;). Most of the newly identified variability is due to an apparent magnetic field coupled with stellar rotation (oblique rotator model). The constraints of this model are fulfilled for all but three CP2 stars. Variations of bona fide Am-Fm stars are exclusively explained by eclipses of binary systems. Furthermore eight candidates of the gamma Doradus group (pulsating Am-Fm stars) were detected. Table 1 (table1.dat) presents the newly identified chemically peculiar stars.</description><source format="bibcode">1998A&amp;AS..133....1P</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+AS/133/1</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/162">III/162 : General Catalogue of Ap and Am stars (Renson+ 1991)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/III/199">III/199 : Observed Periods of Ap and Bp stars (Catalano+ 1998)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/I/196">I/196 : Hipparcos Input Catalogue, Version 2 (Turon+ 1993)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/121/57">J/A+AS/121/57 : Ap stars periodicity (Catalano+ 1997)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/128/573">J/A+AS/128/573 : ubvy{Delta}a photometry of Renson stars (Maitzen+ 1998)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+AS/133/1</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+AS/133/1</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+AS/133/1</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+AS/133/1</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+AS/133/1</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+AS/133/1</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+AS/133/1/table1</name><description>New variable chemically peculiar stars identified in the Hipparcos archive</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
