Our principal aim is to estimate the virial mass of the cluster. For this purpose, we present a sample of 1537 galaxies with radial velocities V_LG_&lt;2600km/s situated within a region of 30x20 degrees around M87. About half of the galaxies have distance estimates. We selected 398 galaxies with distances in the (17+/-5)Mpc range. Based on their 1D and 2D number-density profiles and their radial velocity dispersions, we made an estimate for the virial mass of the Virgo cluster. Results. We identify the infall of galaxies towards the Virgo cluster core along the Virgo Southern Extention filament. From a 1D profile of the cluster, we obtain the virial mass estimate of (6.3+/-0.9)x10^14^ solar masses, which is in tight agreement with its mass estimate via the external infall pattern of galaxies. We conclude that the Virgo cluster outskirts between the virial radius and the zero-velocity radius do not contain significant amounts of dark matter beyond the virial radius.</description><source format="bibcode">2020A&amp;A...635A.135K</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/635/A135</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/PAZh/27/403">J/PAZh/27/403 : Surveying the Local Supercluster Plane (Kashibadze+, 2018)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/635/A135</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/635/A135</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/635/A135</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/635/A135</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/635/A135</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/635/A135</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/635/A135/lscii (Galaxies around M87 (table 1))</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/635/A135/lscii?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/635/A135/lscii?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/635/A135/lscii?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>173.0275</ra><dec>22.125278</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>4/1641 1646 1732-1733 1735 1744 1746 5/6543 6552 6554 6572-6573 6575 6577-6579 6582 6590-6591 6634 6917 6937 6939 6964-6965 7008-7009 7011 7016 7036 7038 6/10402 26159 26169-26171 26214 26222-26223 26226 26233-26235 26241 26247 26251-26253 26255 26273 26275 26277-26280 26283-26285 26287 26297 26299 26304 26306-26307 26321-26323 26326 26332 26352-26354 26356-26357 26411-26412 26502 26523 26528 26531 26534 26540-26542 26544 26554-26555 27653-27654 27664 27666 27674 27676-27677 27679 27685 27697 27704-27705 27709 27744-27745 27747 27755 27840-27841 27845 27847 27851 27853 27855 27865-27866 27868-27869 27871 27875-27876 27878 27884-27885 27887 27889-27890 27892 27895-27896 27901 27921-27922 27924 27926 27929 27931 27934-27935 27954-27955 27959-27962 27968 27980 27982 28001-28003 28009 28011 28015 28025 28040-28041 28043 28048-28050 28052-28054 28056-28058 28060-28062 28068-28070 28072-28073 28076-28077 28081 28087 28091 28095 28097 28099-28102 28106 28110 28123 28126 28130-28133 28139 28141-28142 28149-28151 28156 28229 28237 28240 28243 28247 28249-28250 28272 28283 28416 28419 28432 28435 28437-28439 28441 28444-28446 28451 28481 28483-28484 28486 28496</spatial><spectral>7.952274030004205e-20 5.101838343667421e-19</spectral><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/635/A135?format=ascii</footprint></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/635/A135/lscii</name><description>Galaxies around M87 (table 1)</description><column><name>SimbadName</name><description>Simbad column added by the CDS</description><ucd>meta.id</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="24*">char</dataType><flag>nullable</flag></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
