In recent years we have seen a stream of new sets of high-quality spectra, but increasing the spectral resolution and widening the wavelength coverage means resorting to multi-order echelle spectrographs. Assembling the spectra from many pieces results in lower fidelity of their shapes. We aim to offer the community a library of high-signal-to-noise spectra with reliable continuum shapes. Furthermore, the use of an integral field unit (IFU) alleviates the issue of slit losses. Our library was built with the MUSE (Multi-Unit Spectroscopic Explorer) IFU instrument. We obtained spectra over nearly the entire visual band ({lambda}~4800-9300{AA}). We assembled a library of 35 high-quality MUSE spectra for a subset of the stars from the X-shooter Spectral Library. We verified the continuum shape of these spectra with synthetic broadband colors derived from the spectra. We also report some spectral indices from the Lick system, derived from the new observations. We offer a high-fidelity set of stellar spectra covering the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram. These can be used for both extragalactic and stellar studies and demonstrate that the IFUs are excellent tools for building reliable spectral libraries.</description><source format="bibcode">2019A&amp;A...629A.100I</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/629/A100</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/629/A100</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/629/A100</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/629/A100</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/629/A100</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/629/A100</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/629/A100</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/629/A100/stars (List of stars with spectrum)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/629/A100/stars?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/629/A100/stars?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/629/A100/stars?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>270.9394583</ra><dec>-30.0501389</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/8297 19064 19179 21580 26228 26952 27088 27694 28778 29084 29490 30297 30304 30374 30404 30450 30456 30709 30970 31101 31795 31933 37894 37901 37932 38171 39916 40244 40493 48299 48731 49065 49142</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/629/A100?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/629/A100/stars</name><description>List of stars with spectrum</description><column><name>Name</name><description>Star name</description><ucd>meta.id;meta.main</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType" arraysize="15*">char</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
