The two datasets serve as fundamental resources for many researchers, in particular for chemical abundance analyses. But despite their similar published specifications (spectral resolution and noise level), the shapes of the spectral lines in the two atlases differ significantly and systematically. Knowledge of any instrumental degradations is imperative to fully exploit the information content of spectroscopic data. We seek to investigate the magnitude of these differences and explain the possible sources. We provide the wavelength-dependent correction parameters that need to be taken into account when the spectra are to be compared with synthetic data, for instance.</description><source format="bibcode">2016A&amp;A...590A.118D</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/590/A118</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/113/237">J/A+AS/113/237 : Ultraviolet Spectrum of the Sun (Samain, 1995)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/113/71">J/A+AS/113/71 : Lines in the infrared solar spectrum (Ramsauer+, 1995)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/375/591">J/A+A/375/591 : SUMER Spectral Atlas of Solar Disk Features (Curdt+, 2001)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/181/351">J/ApJS/181/351 : Solar flux model in 30-1300nm wavelength range (Killen+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/525/A74">J/A+A/525/A74 : 540-690nm Solar Atlas (Molaro+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJS/213/11">J/ApJS/213/11 : UV spectrum of the quiet Sun above the limb (Warren+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/other/ApSS/353.347">J/other/ApSS/353.347 : 398-710nm Sun spectral atlases (Fathivavsari+, 2014)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/587/A65">J/A+A/587/A65 : Visible and near-infrared solar spectra (Reiners+, 2016)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/590/A118</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/590/A118</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/590/A118</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/590/A118</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/590/A118</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/590/A118</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/590/A118/fitpar</name><description>Results of the model fitting procedure</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
