In a supplementary programme we obtained time-resolved spectroscopy of known hot subdwarf binary candidates. Here we present orbital solutions of eight close sdB binaries with orbital periods ranging from 0.1 to 10 days, which allow us to derive lower limits on the masses of their companions. Additionally, a dedicated photometric follow-up campaign was conducted to obtain light curves of the reflection-effect binary HS 2043+0615. We are able to constrain the most likely nature of the companions in all cases but one, making use of information derived from photometry and spectroscopy. Four sdBs have white dwarf companions, while another three are orbited by low-mass main sequence stars of spectral type M.</description><source format="bibcode">2014A&amp;A...562A..95G</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/562/A95</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/430/223">J/A+A/430/223 : Parameters of cool companions of sdB stars (Lisker+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/559/A35">J/A+A/559/A35 : FBS 0117+396 pulsating sdB star photometry (Ostensen+, 2013)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/137/3181">J/AJ/137/3181 : HW Vir differential VR light curves (Lee+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/408/L51">J/MNRAS/408/L51 : 2M1938+4603 (KIC 9472174) eclipses (Ostensen+, 2010)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/562/A95</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/562/A95</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/562/A95</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/562/A95</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/562/A95</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/562/A95</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/562/A95/table1 (Derived orbital solutions)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/562/A95/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/562/A95/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/562/A95/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>214.5872083</ra><dec>-3.3816944</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/4604 12334 20224 23510 25905 28880 46295 48137</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/562/A95?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/562/A95/table1</name><description>Derived orbital solutions</description><column><name>DEJ2000</name><description>Simbad Declination (J2000)</description><ucd>pos.eq.dec;meta.main</ucd></column><column><name>T0</name><description>Time of maximum light (HJD-2450000)</description><unit>d</unit><ucd>time.epoch</ucd><dataType xsi:type="vs:VOTableType">double</dataType></column><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
