Such deviations could be caused by an additional planet in the system. We attempt to confirm the claimed variations in transit timing and interpret their origin. We organised a multi-site campaign to observe transits by WASP-12 b in three observing seasons, using 0.5-2.6-metre telescopes. We obtained 61 transit light curves, many of them with sub-millimagnitude precision. The simultaneous analysis of the best-quality datasets allowed us to obtain refined system parameters, which agree with values reported in previous studies. The residuals versus a linear ephemeris reveal a possible periodic signal that may be approximated by a sinusoid with an amplitude of 0.00068+/-0.00013d and period of 500+/-20 orbital periods of WASP-12 b. The joint analysis of timing data and published radial velocity measurements results in a two-planet model that explains observations better than do single-planet scenarios. We hypothesise that WASP-12 b might not be the only planet in the system, and there might be the additional 0.1M_Jup_ body on a 3.6-d eccentric orbit. A dynamical analysis indicates that the proposed two-planet system is stable on long timescales.</description><source format="bibcode">2013A&amp;A...551A.108M</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/551/A108</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/408/1680">J/MNRAS/408/1680 : Transiting planetary system WASP-2 (Southworth+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/715/421">J/ApJ/715/421 : Relative photometry of WASP-3 (Tripathi+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/137/3826">J/AJ/137/3826 : Two transits of the giant planet WASP-4b (Winn+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/539/A159">J/A+A/539/A159 : WASP-4b transit griz light curves (Nikolov+, 2012)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/733/127">J/ApJ/733/127 : Four transits of WASP-4b (Sanchis-Ojeda+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/399/287">J/MNRAS/399/287 : Transiting planetary system WASP-4 (Southworth+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/530/A5">J/A+A/530/A5 : WASP-4b thermal emission Ks-band detection (Caceres+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/396/1023">J/MNRAS/396/1023 : Transiting planetary system WASP-5 (Southworth+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/501/785">J/A+A/501/785 : Discovery and characterization of WASP-6b (Gillon+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/527/A8">J/A+A/527/A8 : Transiting planetary system WASP-7 (Southworth+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/517/L1">J/A+A/517/L1 : Radial velocities of WASP-8b planet (Queloz+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/692/L100">J/ApJ/692/L100 : Relative photometry of WASP-10 (Johnson+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/535/A7">J/A+A/535/A7 : Transit light curves of WASP-10 b (Maciejewski+, 2011)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/502/391">J/A+A/502/391 : WASP-13b photometry and radial velocities (Skillen+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/709/159">J/ApJ/709/159 : Relative Ic photometry of WASP-17 (Anderson+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/707/167">J/ApJ/707/167 : Transiting planetary system WASP-18 (Southworth+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/513/L3">J/A+A/513/L3 : WASP-19b H-band thermal emission (Anderson+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/519/A98">J/A+A/519/A98 : Transit of exoplanet WASP-21b (Bouchy+, 2010)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/534/A16">J/A+A/534/A16 : WASP-22 &amp;
