Using HAWK-I on the VLT, we observed an occultation of WASP-19b by its G8V-type host star. WASP-19b is a Jupiter-mass planet with an orbital period of only 19 h, and thus, being highly irradiated, is expected to be hot. We measure an H-band occultation depth of (0.259^+0.046^_-0.044_)%, which corresponds to an H-band brightness temperature of T_H_=2580+/-125K. A cloud-free model of the planet's atmosphere, with no redistribution of energy from day-side to night-side, under predicts the planet/star flux density ratio by a factor of two. As the stellar parameters, and thus the level of planetary irradiation, are well-constrained by measurement, it is likely that our model of the planet's atmosphere is too simple.</description><source format="bibcode">2010A&amp;A...513L...3A</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/513/L3</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/399/287">J/MNRAS/399/287 : Transiting planetary system WASP-4 (Southworth+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/137/3826">J/AJ/137/3826 : Two transits of the giant planet WASP-4b (Winn+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/MNRAS/396/1023">J/MNRAS/396/1023 : Transiting planetary system WASP-5 (Southworth+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/501/785">J/A+A/501/785 : Discovery and characterization of WASP-6b (Gillon+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/502/395">J/A+A/502/395 : WASP-11b (West+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/502/391">J/A+A/502/391 : WASP-13b photometry and radial velocities (Skillen+, 2009)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/707/167">J/ApJ/707/167 : Transiting planetary system WASP-18 (Southworth+, 2009)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/513/L3</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/513/L3</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/513/L3</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/513/L3</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/513/L3</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/513/L3</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><coverage><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc"/><waveband>Optical</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/513/L3/hawkihd</name><description>Detrended HAWK-I H-band photometry</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
