We present a Chandra X-ray observation of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 2808. We classify the X-ray sources associated with the cluster by analysing their colours and variability. Previous observations with XMM-Newton and far ultraviolet observations with the Hubble Space Telescope are re-investigated to help identify the Chandra sources associated with the cluster. We compare our results to population synthesis models and observations of other Galactic globular clusters. We detect 113 sources, of which 16 fall inside the half-mass radius of NGC 2808 and are concentrated towards the cluster core.</description><source format="bibcode">2008A&amp;A...490..641S</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/490/641</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/chandra">B/chandra : The Chandra Archive Log (CXC, 1999-)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/xmm">B/xmm : XMM-Newton Observation Log (XMM-Newton SOC, 2007)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+AS/84/59">J/A+AS/84/59 : Photometry of NGC 2808 (Ferraro+, 1990)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/562/368">J/ApJ/562/368 : UV photometry in NGC 2808 (Brown+, 2001)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/413/343">J/A+A/413/343 : RGB stars in NGC 2808 (Cacciari+, 2004)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/ApJ/625/156">J/ApJ/625/156 : FUV-NUV observations of NGC 2808 (Dieball+, 2005)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/A+A/480/397">J/A+A/480/397 : XMM observations of NGC 2808 and NGC 4372 (Servillat+, 2008)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/490/641</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/490/641</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/490/641</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/490/641</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/490/641</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/490/641</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/490/641/table1 (Detected Chandra sources in the direction of NGC 2808)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/490/641/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/490/641/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/490/641/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>138.0079583</ra><dec>-64.864075</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/37294 37636</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/490/641?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>X-ray</waveband><waveband>UV</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/490/641/table1</name><description>Detected Chandra sources in the direction of NGC 2808</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
