Here we revisit the central galaxy regions searching for new globular cluster (GC) candidates, and measure magnitudes, colours and sizes for them. We also search for their X-ray counterparts. Methods: We use archival Hubble Space Telescope WFPC2 images, from which we modelled and subtracted the host light distribution to increase the available sample of GCs. We performed photometry on the central objects, and measured sizes and coordinates for the entire GC system known in this galaxy. Results: We detect two dozen previously unknown GC candidates in the central reg ions. Reliable sizes are obtained for about 60 GCs; their typical effective radii are in the range 3-5pc. The largest clusters are located in the central regions. We find 7 X-ray counterparts to GCs, most of them in the central region. They are among the most luminous X-ray sources in NGC 5846. They are also optically luminous, compact and belong to the red subpopulation. Conclusions: The GCS of NGC 5846 is composed of relatively luminous X-ray sources.</description><source format="bibcode">2006A&amp;A...455..453C</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/455/453</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/J/AJ/130/1502">J/AJ/130/1502 : NGC 5846 group: photometry and spectroscopy (Mahdavi+, 2005)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/455/453</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/455/453</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/455/453</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/455/453</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/455/453</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/455/453</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/455/453/table3 (Positions and photometry for the entire GCS of NGC 5846)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/455/453/table3?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/455/453/table3?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/455/453/table3?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>226.6228796</ra><dec>1.6006272</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/455/453/table4 (Sizes and related parameters for GCs successfully measured by ISHAPE)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/455/453/table4?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/455/453/table4?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/455/453/table4?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>226.6250822</ra><dec>1.6330174</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/8196</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/455/453?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>X-ray</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/455/453/table3</name><description>Positions and photometry for the entire GCS of NGC 5846</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
