Their distances and spectral type are estimated using the DENIS colours. 107 stars are within 50pc. 31 stars among them have previously measured distances. In addition, 40 stars may enter within the 50pc limit depending on which population they belong to. 6 stars among them have already measured distances. 5 objects, LHS5045, L225-57, LP831-45, LHS1767, and WT792, are probably closer than 15pc, with L225-57 at 9.5pc. Most of these stars are M-type while 4 stars are white dwarfs. 88 M-dwarfs are disc stars, 14 belong to the thick disc and 1 to the spheroid.</description><source format="bibcode">2002A&amp;A...390..491R</source><referenceURL>https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/cat/J/A+A/390/491</referenceURL><type>Catalog</type><contentLevel>Research</contentLevel><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/TAP">TAP VizieR generic service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>IsServedBy</relationshipType><relatedResource>Conesearch service</relatedResource></relationship><relationship><relationshipType>related-to</relationshipType><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/V/70">V/70 : Nearby Stars, Preliminary 3rd Version (Gliese+ 1991)</relatedResource><relatedResource ivo-id="ivo://CDS.VizieR/B/denis">B/denis : The DENIS database (Epchtein+, 1999)</relatedResource></relationship></content><rights>https://cds.unistra.fr/vizier-org/licences_vizier.html</rights><capability><interface xsi:type="vr:WebBrowser"><accessURL use="full">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/390/491</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/390/491</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/VizieR-2?-source=J/A+A/390/491</mirrorURL></interface></capability><capability><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/390/491</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/390/491</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/votable?-source=J/A+A/390/491</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface></capability><capability standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/TAP#aux"><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://tapvizier.cds.unistra.fr/TAPVizieR/tap</accessURL></interface></capability><capability xsi:type="cs:ConeSearch" standardID="ivo://ivoa.net/std/ConeSearch"><description>Cone search capability for table J/A+A/390/491/table1 (Nearby stars candidates)</description><interface xsi:type="vs:ParamHTTP" role="std"><accessURL use="base">https://vizier.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/390/491/table1?</accessURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at IUCAA: Pune, India">https://vizier.iucaa.in/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/390/491/table1?</mirrorURL><mirrorURL title="VizieR at SAAO: SAAO, South Africa">http://vizieridia.saao.ac.za/viz-bin/conesearch/J/A+A/390/491/table1?</mirrorURL><queryType>GET</queryType><resultType>text/xml+votable</resultType></interface><maxSR>180.0</maxSR><maxRecords>50000</maxRecords><verbosity>true</verbosity><testQuery><ra>0.1420417</ra><dec>-36.8359167</dec><sr>0.005555555555555556</sr></testQuery></capability><coverage><spatial>6/16399-16400 16433-16434 16440 16554 16568 16581 16584 16900 16904 20487 20496 20520 20646 24653 24655 24670 24679 24691-24692 24744 25091-25092 25103 25140 25216 25233 32827 32994 33226 33269 33393 33403 33427 33476 33571 33583 33693 33700 33713 33761 33867 33876 33884 33888 33892 33895 33964 34031 34139 34161 34168 34191 34367 34401 34423 34427 34471 34491 34501 34535 34561 34835 34903 34950 35083 35103 35113 35120 35166 35314 35334 35340 35355 35365 35494 35552 35641 35657 35663 35745 35759 35885 35957 35987 35997 36024-36025 36061 36065 36070 36088 36128 36145 38755 38866 38986 39069 39080 39098 39430 39585 39589 43862 43885 43889 43909 45382 46010 46017 46020 46029 46031 46096 46377 46381 46386 46465 46588 46622 46673 46675 46678 46718 46739 46766 46948-46949 46986 46990 47010 47043 47361 47401 47449 47512 47562 47942 47952 48128 48134 48234 48242 48388</spatial><footprint ivo-id="ivo://ivoa.net/std/moc">https://cdsarc.cds.unistra.fr/viz-bin/moc/J/A+A/390/491?format=ascii</footprint><waveband>Infrared</waveband></coverage><tableset><schema><name>default</name><table><name>J/A+A/390/491/table1</name><description>Nearby stars candidates</description><column><name>recno</name><description>Record number assigned by the VizieR team.
